One of the two juveniles already faces charges in the September break-in and vandalism of Northampton County High School-West, according to police investigators.

Roanoke Rapids Police Lt. Ron Baird said the pair of Weldon teens are charged with nine counts of breaking and entering, seven counts of damage to property, six counts of larceny and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Baird said the charges stem from an investigation by Detective W.F. Bowen into the Oct. 2, Nov. 23 and Nov. 27 break-ins of Becker Village Mall.

Hibbett Sports and Golden Gems were broken into Oct. 2, Golden Gems and Sweet Delights were broken into on Nov. 23 and again on Nov. 27.

The two suspects are being held in juvenile detention centers.

In the Northampton High School-West incident, police say two adults and two juveniles entered the school grounds on the night of Sept. 15. They sprayed school and activity busses with sulfur-based fire extinguishers and broke the windows of the school's computer lab, police said. Inside the computer lab, computer equipment was knocked down and that room was sprayed with extinguishers.

Sulfur also was sprayed in the school's kitchen, where two monitors were taken down and a window was broken. The cafeteria was sprayed with extinguishers and a VCR was taken from the school's gym. Four arrests have been made in that case.

In an unrelated incident, a Franklin, Va., woman who Baird said posed as a member of the Camp family, known in that area for paper mills, was charged with three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. Two of the charges are by the Detective James Ayers and one is by Detective Gene Harris of the Weldon Police Department, Baird said.

On Sept. 11, Kathy Oclair Camp, 52, who is not related to the paper mill Camp family, bought a motorcycle and accessories valued at $13,400 from Roanoke Valley Motorsports, Baird said.

The same day she allegedly bought a $12,000 BMW passenger vehicle at Larry's Auto in Weldon.

Investigation showed Camp, who faces similar charges in Virginia, opened a bank account and went to the businesses with bogus identity and bogus checks, Baird said.

She was released from the Halifax County Jail on $5,000 bond.
