HALIFAX - A man who fled police officers three times was finally arrested Wednesday by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

This time, William Felton “Hulk” Harris, 27, was arrested without incident, said Lt. Bruce Temple. Harris is suspected of being a major player in the Hobgood drug trade, according to investigators.

He was charged on a warrant from the Hobgood Police Department for obstructing and delaying an officer. He was also charged on an outstanding warrant from Bertie County for communicating threats. He was released from jail on $6,000 bond.

Harris ran three times from Hobgood Police Chief Joe Williams, once on Saturday and twice on Monday.

Meanwhile, Temple said there were no new developments in the murder of Wilbert L. Caine, 58, and the shooting of Clifton Holiday, 31, which occurred Friday.

The shootings occurred after two people described as black males attempted to rob June Daniels, an elderly man who lives in a ramshackle wooden house behind a building owned by Holiday, who lives in Greenville.

The men ordered Daniels out of his residence and sent him to the building owned by Holiday. In a matter of seconds, several shots were fired at Caine and Holiday. Caine was fatally wounded and Holiday was shot twice. Holiday was treated and released from Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck.

Investigators are looking for a dark colored SUV described as resembling either an Cadillac Escalade or Ford Expedition with a chrome grill. The vehicle is in excellent condition, investigators said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 583-8051 or Halifax County Crimestoppers at 583-4444.
