Marion L. Fisher dies

Longtime Roanoke Rapids civic and political leader Marion L. Fisher died this morning at the age of 81 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

He served on the Roanoke Rapids City Council for eight years until his declining health forced his retirement in 2005. A complete obituary and plans for services will be published in Tuesday's edition of the Daily Herald.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and being handled by Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids.
