Delaware man dies in I-95 accident

Todd Wetherington | Daily Herald A Delaware man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 near the 154 mile marker Friday. The man and his family were on their way home from Orlando.

ROANOKE RAPIDS - A Delaware man lost his life when his vehicle ran off the road, went airborne and landed on its top Friday morning.

N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper C.A. Taylor said 51-year-old Hany Aly of Middletown, Del., died when he was pinned beneath his overturned vehicle.

Aly's wife and two children, ages 7 and 10, were taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids. Taylor said he believed they had been treated and released.

The family was returning home from Orlando, Fla., when about 8:30 a.m., their northbound vehicle went off the road.

The vehicle went inside the guardrails and then went airborne, landing on its top in the middle of Interstate 95.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.
