ROANOKE RAPIDS - Campaigning for his wife, N.Y. Sen. Hillary Clinton, former president Bill Clinton will speak at a “Solutions for America” rally Friday at Centennial Park.

The rally is open to the public and is sheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., at the park, 7th Street and Roanoke Avenue in Roanoke Rapids.

Clinton's visit is part of a growing presidential campaign effort in North Carolina as the state's May 6 primary nears. At stake in the vote will be 115 delegates to the Democratic convention.

Clinton is scheduled to address a campaign rally at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount at 7:30 p.m., Friday. That event will be at the Everett Gymnasium, 3400 N. Wesleyan Blvd. (Note: This is a change in the original time.)

Then he travels to Greenville, Wilson, Goldsboro, Kinston, New Bern, and Jacksonville on Saturday.

Clinton visited the state previously. The Clintons' daughter, Chelsea, also has campaigned for her mother in North Carolina, and the candidate has visited as well.

Hillary Clinton's opponent, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, also has campaigned in the state, and his wife, Michelle, campaigned for him on Tuesday.
