“This is a hallmark for our community and a credit to our talented staff and our advertisers who trusted us with their message,” Publisher Ronnie Bell said announcing the awards.

Bell pointed out that the competition was extremely tough with the judges basing their decision on the ad's creativity and the success in delivering the advertisers' message to the reader.

“This an example of the Daily Herald's dedication to the community and providing a quality newspaper to the Roanoke Valley and southern Virginia,” Bell added.
