ROXOBEL — Wilma Jewel Hall Morris, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Morris was born June 18, 1928, in Bertie County, the daughter of the late Allie V. and Pauline Acree Hall. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Russell Morris.

She is survived by her son, Sidney Morris of the home; her daughters, Rosalyn Mitchell and her husband, Adrian, of Ahoskie and Bonnie Hyde of Tarboro; a son-in-law, Charles Bennett Hyde Jr. of Tarboro; her sisters, Pauline Johnson of Roxobel and  Ruth Dilday of Murfreesboro; her grandchildren, Robin Malone and her husband, Lenny, of Aulander and Tracy Hyde of Tarboro; a stepgrandson, Patrick Mitchell of Wilson; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Chelsie, Courtney and Lansden Malone.

The family wishes to thank the special caregivers, Cheryl Cherry, Charla Moore, Viola Carr and the staff of University Health Systems, Home Health and Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Oct. 2, at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, which is handling the arrangements, and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, at Sandy Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dave Rimel officiating. Burial will follow in Roxobel Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the building fund of Sandy Run Baptist Church, 310 E. Church St., Roxobel NC 27872 or to the University Health Systems, Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie NC 27910.
