William B. Dunlow

JARRATT, Va. — William B. Dunlow, 83, widower of Martha E. Dunlow, died Friday, October 17, 2008.

Survivors include four daughters, Peggy D. Goddard and husband, Joe of Roanoke Rapids, Margaret E. Dunlow, Mary Ann Dunlow and Pamela Sue Dunlow, all of Emporia, Va.; five grandchildren, Billy Harvey and Michael Harvey of Virginia Beach, Va., Paul C. Gay of Emporia, Elsie Lee Smith of Halifax and Douglas Dickens, Jr. of Emporia; seven great-grandchildren, Kaytlin Bendall, Jakob Dickens, Torie Ladendorf, Samanthia Dickens, Sydney Smith, McKenzie Dickens and Blair Dickens; sister, Mary Ida Jarratt of Emporia; brother, Ernest Dunlow of Roanoke Rapids; devoted caregivers, Cathy, Shirley, Ellen and Melissa.

Mr. Dunlow was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Emporia and was retired from what is now VDOT.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., at Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, Va., where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21. Interment will follow at Greensville Memorial Cemetery.

    " We are very sadden to hear of Mr. Dunlow's passing. He was a Great Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. We know that he will be missed a lot by quite a few people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of loss. May he rest in eternal peace. "
