Lizzie Bet Shearin Clary

GASTON — Lizzie Bet Shearin Clary, 90, of 320 Huey St., Gaston, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Warren Hills Nursing Home in Warrenton.

Mrs. Shearin was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Arcola, to the late Walter John Shearin and Roberta Neal Shearin. Mrs. Shearin was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Arcola. She sold cosmetics for Hazel Keller Cosmetics Company, was an avid bowler and loved playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Clary; three sisters, Alberta Harris, Daisy McCoy and Sophie Browning; and three brothers, Walter Shearin, Stanley Shearin and Melvin Shearin.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lillie Shearin of Hollister.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Oct. 28, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which handled the arrangements. The Rev. Steve Mullinex officiated. Burial followed in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
