Vows exchanged during ceremony on Oct. 18

Stephanie Marie Keisling and Thomas Joseph Mayton, both of Roanoke Rapids, exchanged wedding vows during a 6 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Kirkwood Adams Community Center in Roanoke Rapids.

The bride is the daughter of Ann and Dan Keisling of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of Carla and John Lach of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Judy Keisling and the late Ray Kesling of Liberty, Mo.

The bridegroom is the son of Joann and Thomas Mayton of Lawrenceville, Va. He is the grandson of the late Bonnie and Joe King of Norlina and Mary Mayton and the late Otha Mayton of Lawrenceville.

Michael and Mark Lach, uncles of the bride, performed the  ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin-A-line gown with removable cap sleeves and featured a Chiffon split front and chapel-length train. The bodice and back were covered with crystal and pearl embroidery.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a crystal and pearl tiara with a detachable fingertip-length veil that was also edged with crystals. The bride also wore crystal and pearl jewelry designed for her by her mother. The bride and her attendants carried bouquets of various colored Gerber daisies. The flowers were designed by the wonderful florists at It’s All About You of Roanoke Rapids.

Mitzi Pearce of Blackridge, Va., sister of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Jennifer Moore of Halifax, friend of the bride.

Casey Outland of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride, served as flower girl. Ring bearer was Timothy Sterling Pearce of Blackridge, nephew of the bridegroom.

Tim Pearce of Blackridge, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsman was Steven Keisling of Roanoke Rapids, brother of the bride.

The bride is employed with Flambeau Inc. in Weldon.

The bridegroom is employed with Daniel Brothers of Lawrenceville.

After a week-long trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple now reside in Roanoke Rapids. After the ceremony, a luau themed reception was held at Kirkwood F. Adams Community Center. Those attending were encouraged to wear Hawaiian themed clothing. Janie Carlisle presented each guest with a lei. The gift table was attended by Courtney and Jessica Pfeifer. The cake was cut and served by Sue Pfeifer. A special toast was given to the couple by the bride’s father, Don Keisling. The buffet was catered and served by Vivian and Michael Humphrey, Betty Tillman, Don Tippett and Liz Hudson. Steven Keisling and Kaiden Goodwin served the drinks. Photographers were Rosemary Morriss and Stuart Lewis. Special out-of-town guests were Carla and John Lach, Florence Grant, Donald Lach, Mark Lach, Michael, Connie and Austyn Lach and Kaiden Goodwin, all of Blackfoot, Lynnette and John Todd of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Judy Keisling of Liberty, Pam Billings of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Ken and Ronda Keisling of Geneva, Illinois, Marge and Donald Crainer of Stransburg, Va., Carol and Doug Lake of Vienna, Va., Bob and Becky Lach of Mt. Airy, Md., and Bill and Pat Lach of Fredrick, Md.

An after-rehearsal dinner was given by the parents of the bridegroom at Carolina Restaurant.

Ann Keisling hosted an engagement party at Fairwood Lanes.

A lingerie shower was given by Mary Ann Crawley and Sharon Warrick at the Crawley home.

A gift card shower was given by Sue Highland and Liz Hudson at Fairwood Lanes. A special luncheon was given to the bride by the employees at Flambeau Inc.
