Ike always loved music and enjoyed playing his upright fiddle bass with the Country Rhythm Masters. He was also a master clock repairman and enjoyed repairing clocks at his shop, “The Clock Doc.” He was a longtime member of East Tenth Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret W. Daughtry; his sons, Nick Dickens and Jeff Dickens and his wife, Sylvia, all of Littleton; his daughters, Betty Ann Mohorn and her husband, Bently, of Halifax, Michelle Dickens of Wilmington, Carolyn Wood and her husband, Tom, of Columbus, Ga., and Lisa Bullard and her husband, Bill, of Stanfield; his brother, Luther “Goose” Daughtry and his wife, Mary Lee, and his two sisters, Clarice “Sis” Daughtry Vick and Dorothy “Dot” Daughtry Robbins and her husband, Romie, all of Roanoke Rapids; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandsons; his sister-in-law, Viola Daughtry of Roanoke Rapids; and also many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Nov. 19, at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements, and other times at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, at East Tenth Street Church of Christ, with Minister David Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
