EDENTON — Romie W. Kee, 61, of Edenton House Retirement Center and formerly of Garysburg, departed this life Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses Grant and Jannie A. Harrison Kee; two sisters, Dorothy Bynum and Barbara A. Kee; and two brothers, Thomas and Isaiah Kee.

He is survived by his sisters, Elder and Assistant Pastor Josephine Kee-Easter and his pastor and brother-in-law, Bishop William H. Easter of Garysburg, Elizabeth C. Kee, Maggie Kee-Banks (Henry) of Gumberry and Elder Rosa Kee-Epps (Arthur) of Rocky Mount; his brothers, Elder New Jenes Kee (Doshia) and Ulysses C. Kee (Betty), both of Garysburg, and Cal E. Kee of Jackson; one aunt, Maggie Scott of Skippers, Va.; and one uncle, Elder Walton Harrison of New Jersey.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, at Coleman Funeral Home in Garysburg, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, at Rising Sun Holiness Church, 1185 Chapmans Ford Road, Emporia, Va., with Elder James T. Easter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will meet at the funeral home for the procession to the church.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Bishop William and Josephine Easter on Elam Church Road, Garysburg, or please call 589-7951.
