HALIFAX — Mr. John A. Whitaker, 77, of 2276 Green Star Road, Halifax, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Scotland Neck.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the church, with the Rev. Curtis Locus officiating. Burial will follow in Enfield Memorial Cemetery.

New Beginnings Funeral Service, 3221 U.S. Highway 258, Rich Square, is handling the arrangements.
