Bennett, Tromans exchange wedding vows Nov. 8

Amy Lynn Tromans and Dennis Keith Bennett Jr., both of Roanoke Rapids, exchanged wedding vows during a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Rosemary United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Rita Tromans of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of the late Palmer and Delores Stainback of Roanoke Rapids and John and DeRother Tromans of Jackson.

The bridegroom is the son of Keith and Teresa Bennett of Roanoke Rapids. He is the grandson of John and Faye Byrum   and Mary Strickland and Shirmon Bennett all of Roanoke Rapids.

The Rev. Jim Bell and the Rev. Sue Owens performed the nuptial ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by Beth Gray-Robertson, pianist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin mermaid dress with a double beaded sweetheart neckline. The dress was adorned with tear drop beaded appliqués. The train was chapel-length and also embroidered with tear drop beads.

For her headpiece, the bride wore an elbow-length two tier veil with a beaded scallop edge and dangling crystals. She also wore a silver tiara with metal scrolls, pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of two dozen yellow roses and white stephanotis hand-tied with a white ribbon.

Mrs. Amanda Hester of Roanoke Rapids, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Miss Amanda Lewis of Stoney Creek, Va., college roommate and friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dr. Kimberly Nealy of Wilmington, Mrs. Claudia Edmondson of Angier and Miss Velvie Harsh of Greenville, all friends of the bride. Junior bride was Miss Cheyenne Hester of Roanoke Rapids, niece of the bride.

Keith Bennett of Roanoke Rapids served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Bennett, brother of the bridegroom, Brook McCabe, friend of the bridegroom, Jody Hester, brother-in-law of the bride, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Cory Byrum of Jackson, cousin of the bridegroom.

Terri Stainback of Roanoke Rapids, aunt of  the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies.

The bride graduated from Campbell University School of Pharmacy in May 2008 and is working as a pharmacist at Walgreens in Roanoke Rapids.

The bridegroom is currently attending Halifax Community College and works part-time with Bennett Trucking and Logging.

The couple honeymooned in Ocracoke and at Kerr Lake. They will live in Roanoke Rapids.

A reception was held at Kirkwood Adams Civic Center in Roanoke Rapids and was catered by Doris Riggs Catering out of Nashville. Music was provided by Chase Given out of Greenville. The tables were decorated with floor-length white linens with sheer yellow overlays.

An after-rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents at Watersview Restaurant at Eatons Ferry Bridge in Littleton.

 A  miscellaneous bridal shower was given on Sept. 14 in Roanoke Rapids by Amanda Hester, sister of the bride, and Renee Brantley.

Kimberly Nealy, Amanda Lewis and Claudia Edmondson hosted an overnight lingerie party Sept. 20-21 in Cary.

A bridal luncheon was given by Terri Stainback on Nov. 7, at Timeless Tea in Roanoke Rapids. The bride chose this time to give her attendants their gifts.

A bachelor party was given by the groomsmen after the rehearsal dinner on Nov. 7.
