Price of fuel

Why is gasoline a dollar and change and kerosene is almost $5 a gallon? There will be a day of reckoning.

Editor’s note: We are  working on a story regarding keeping warm this winter and the costs. We should have this ready for our readers early in the week.

Coward

This is to the person who said people are cowards for speaking out in Sound off! You sound like a coward, yourself. Get a grip. Remember Jesus loves you.

Just don’t read it

About the people calling the people who call Sound off! cowards, they don’t have to read it … If there is something on TV just change the channel … There are lots of other things to read in the newspaper … I like Sound off! If you don’t just don’t read it.

Cna pay

The reason CNAs can’t get better pay is because of the patient load in our nursing homes and hospitals … CNAs must remember that the nurses, doctors and X-ray technicians have spent years in school while the CNAs, while it is a vital job, have spent somewhere between six weeks and six months.

Poor discipline plan

My child has come home several times and been told his P.E. was taken away for disciplinary reasons …If physical education is on the county’s curriculum why is it taken away from him?

Decorations

I have noticed that through the years fewer and fewer families are putting up decorations outside the home … I understand that not every family celebrates Christmas. Each year, I fix my children a nice cup of hot chocolate and we drive around the city looking at the lights and decorations. They love doing it … As they have gotten older they have noticed there are less and less decorations … Let’s not just celebrate Christmas inside our homes with presents and trees, but outside as well.

Bridge work

Can the people working on the bridge between Roanoke Rapids and Gaston do it after the morning rush hour … Say 9 a.m. and let us get to work on time.

Liability

I would like Jon Baker to explain to the taxpayer how Mr. Gatling and his limited liability corporation can take possession of the theater and start operations before the entire down payment is made and any contracts are signed.
