Jesse Wilbert ‘Sonny’ Cobb

CHESAPEAKE, Va. —  Jesse Wilbert “Sonny” Cobb, 69, of the 2200 block of Chesapeake, Va., died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Chesapeake.

A native of Emporia, Va., he was the son of the late Twilley and Ellen Odell Smith Cobb, and was the owner of Nags Head Construction and Development Company Inc.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Madison Leigh Holland.

Survived by his family who loved him with all their hearts are his wife of 45 years, Jean McDonald Cobb; four children, William Twilley “Little Sonny” Cobb and his wife, Tanya, Tammy Lynn Cobb, Fran Holland and her husband, Tommy, and Ricky Lee Cobb and his wife, Lori; four grandchildren, Wade and Grace Cobb and Hannah and Jake Holland; two sisters, Joyce L. Gray and Peggy J. Mayfield and her husband, Jack; a brother, Doug Cobb and his wife, Linda; extended family and friends; and his beloved dog, Cuddles.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., today, Dec. 9, at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
