Cheers for cantata

Congratulations and hats off to the Roanoke Salem Baptist Church and all the hard working men and women who performed in the Christmas cantata … It was splendid … Those types of activities should get more attention  … Hats off to them all.

Hunters beware

To the hunters who hunt beside the roads and by people’s houses, please be careful with those high-powered guns … A bullet doesn’t know where it is headed or toward whom when it leaves the rifle … Please be careful.

Shenanigans?

It is time that Weldon City Schools’ shenanigans be revealed …

Tournament crowded

I am calling about the Northampton-West tournament … It made no sense for them to charge us $7 and then pack the place like sardines … They need a bigger place … They should have called the fire marshal.

Help for animals

Roanoke Rapids should do more for the Humane Society.

" The crime rate in Roanoke Rapids has increased beyond control. Its so hard for our youth to see the struggles that await them and its so hard for city officials & surburban areas to see the offensive behavior & language given off from our black & white police officers in rural areas. The complaints are extensive & constant & should be addressed before our city is the featured town on CNN. "

" How is it that the government says that we are in a recession, yet the prices on rent and mortgage has not gone down? Wouldn't it make more sense to reduce rent so that it can be paid instead of keeping it at a rate that no one can pay it? The price to rent in the Roanoke Area is ridiculous. "
