Upcoming Abstinence & education session

The Halifax County School District is the recipient of a Community Based Abstinence Education grant through the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. Project ASPIRE (Abstinence Standards Promoting Individual Respect and Education) is implemented in grades sixth through 12th to provide youth with medically accurate information to improve decision-making skills. There will be a parent information session at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton. All parents who have middle or high school students are invited to attend to promote abstinence and education. For information, call Mamie Jordan at (252) 519-0300 ext. 236.
