Hedgepeth trio graduates

Three members of the Hedgepeth family of Enfield recently celebrated educational success.

Tammy Hedgepeth and her daughter, Latorya, are recent college graduates and Tammy’s son, Bobby, is a 2008 high school graduate.

Tammy graduated in fall of 2008 from North Carolina Central University in Durham with a 3.666 GPA. She received her degree in curriculum and instruction with a minor in middle grades, M. Ed.

She is also a 1987 graduate of Northwest High School; received a diploma of computer operation in August 1991 and an Associate in Science in Business Computer Programming in August 1992 from Halifax Community College in Weldon; and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in May 2001 from Shaw University in Raleigh, graduating Suma Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.824.

She is the wife of Bobby Hedgepeth Sr., and has one other daughter, Tamatha. She is the daughter of Howard and Lucy Hairston of Roanoke Rapids, the granddaughter of Betty Lee Jones Flemings and the sister to Felicia Roberts and Ron Hairston of Roanoke Rapids.

Tammy says “Jesus will be your strength to move mountains that seem impossible to move. Determination will help you reach your educational goals.”

Her daughter, Latorya graduated from Northwest in 2004 and received a Bachelor of Science  degree in Political Science in 2008 from Elizabeth  City State University.

Bobby graduated from Northwest in 2008.

    " Hey Aunt Tammy and Uncle Bobby Ray This is Frank Jr. daughter. I came across this by looking my name in the computer. Congratulation's to all three of you. Aunt Tammy you done a beautiful job raising my little cousins I'm proud. Dasia is eight years old and Isaiah is about to turn one
    I am also proud to say that I have finally started my college career and am doing well. I miss my family and wish you all were around. Give Uncle bobby a kiss for me and I love you all. "
