Rhonda Moses, directory of technology at Northampton County Schools, was recently recognized and presented with a plaque from MCNC at its annual N.C. Research and Education Network Community Day in Research Triangle Park. MCNC is an independent, non-profit organization that employs advanced networking technologies and systems to continuously improve learning and collaboration throughout North Carolina’s K20 education community.
For almost a quarter of a century, MCNC has been a trailblazer in the integration of technology and education. As the operator of the North Carolina Research and Education Network, MCNC’s focus is to provide a leading edge network infrastructure upon which our state’s greatest minds can create and collaborate. Moses was featured in the NCREN Community newsletter, which led to Northampton County Schools being selected by then Lt. Governor Bev Perdue’s office as one of four districts in the state to showcase the state of connectivity in K-12 education at the Legislative Networking broadcast from the Friday Institute.
In addition to that, Moses was selected as the featured speaker for the North Carolina School of Science and Math’s 2008 summer videoconference on leveraging connectivity for staff development and instructional support. These, among many other accolades, are the reason Moses was selected to received the organization's prestigious leadership award.
