GARYSBURG — Mrs. Amanda Eloise Stephenson, 84, of Garysburg, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Bedford Memorial Hospital in Bedford, Va.

Mrs. Stephenson was born April 5, 1924, in Batesburg, S.C., the daughter of the late John and Dollie Keisler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Judson “QJ” Stephenson; and two brothers, Theron Keisler and J.B. “Bo” Keisler, both of South Carolina.

Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Garysburg Methodist Church and retired as a seamstress from Fannie’s in Roanoke Rapids.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Dollie Glaum of Raleigh, Quinton Stephenson and his wife, Sherry, of Oxford, Eula Cutler of Roanoke Rapids and Jackie Heffelfinger and her husband, Mike, of Bedford, Va.; two sisters, Georgia Bailey of Florida and Lorene Gantt of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, March 10, at the home of her daughter, Eula Cutler, 1405 East Circle Drive, Roanoke Rapids.

The family will also receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, at Garysburg Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements.
