RRHS DECA students go to state conference

Distributed Education Class of America helps students who are studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality and marketing sales and service.  Jan Tugwell, Roanoke Rapids High School advisor to the group, took them to the North Carolina DECA conference March 4-7 in Greensboro. The group won state awards and national recognition. Several students are eligible to attend the National DECA Conference in California. Hunter Coyne won fourth place in the state in advertising campaign; and Dale Strickland, Matt Duncan, Kiana Fleming and LaToya Pierce received the highest level of “Chapters of Distinction” and are now qualified to attend the National DECA Conference in April. Proficiency awards were given to Veronica Hill, Harrison Davis, Dale Strickland, Michael Sledge, Chris Lyons, Amber Nail, Katie Jenkins, Antigonie McGee, Mary Beth Davis, Timmy Alston, David McNair, Danny Brabham and Hunter Coyne.
