Social held for ‘Budding Roses’

The Kappa Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. recently held a “Getting To Know You Social” for its “Budding Roses” young ladies that included activities to improve communications and socialization skills, etiquette tips and review of black cultural historical events. The “Budding Roses” are a group of young ladies under the leadership of the women of Kappa Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. The groups provide leadership and character development, exposure to cultural, social, political and community opportunities that will enhance self-esteem, poise, character and citizenship, and inspire the young ladies to be high achievers. Committee members are Vandell Mills, co-chair; Rita Williams, co-chair; Lucille Anthony, Matilda Campbell, Geraldine Greene, Kimberly Jones, Margaret Putney and Stephanie Tillery.
