Richardson joins honor society

Travorse McCraig Richardson of Enfield and a Northwest Halifax High School graduate, was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society on Saturday, March 28. This society is for students that earn a GPA average of 3.5 or above during at least one semester of their freshman year.

Phi Eta Sigma is one of the oldest and most prestigious honor societies for freshmen in the country. Its purpose is to encourage and reward academic excellence of first year students. Membership automatically qualifies undergraduate students to apply for a scholarship from the National Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma.

Approximately 75 students will be inducted into the North Carolina Central University Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma.
