JACKSON —  Mr. William Thomas “Billy” Futrell, 77, of Highway 305, Jackson, died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his home.

 Mr. Futrell was born April 16, 1932 in Northampton County, the son of the late William Roger Futrell and Josie Askew Futrell.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Daphne Futrell, Judith Ruth Barnes, Peggy Ann Futrell, a sister-in-law, Ethel Futrell and a brother-in-law Oscar Barnes. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation and a faithful member of Rohoboth United Methodist Church.

 Survivors include his wife, Ruby Duke Futrell; his daughter, Dawn Leseney and her husband, Roger of Jackson; his brothers, Henry Patrick Futrell, Roger Buxton “Buck” Futrell and his wife, Gladys, Robert Earl “Bobby” Futrell and his wife Peggy, and Bernie Darrell Futrell and his wife, Kay; four grandchildren, Timothy Joseph Bellanca and his wife, Elisa, Lauren Hope Bellanca, William David Bellanca and Tyr’e Samuel Leseney and one great-grandchild, Kristopher Matthew Altmansberger.

 The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Tuesday,  May 5, at  Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, which is handling the arrangements and other times at the home.

 Funeral services will be held, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 6,   at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating.  Burial will follow at the Futrell Family Cemetery.

    Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, Roanoke Rapids Chapter Relay for Life.
