Pilot Club presents BrainMinders

The Pilot Club of Roanoke Valley presented the BrainMinders program to the first graders at Squire Elementary School recently. The program involves “BrainMinder Buddies” who promote brain safety. The buddies include Wise Old Owl, Martin Monkey, Penny Panda, Gerald Giraffe and Fiona Fox. The children helped with the program using the puppets. After the presentation each child was given a coloring book promoting brain safety. This is a program sponsored by Pilot International and is the project for the year for the North Carolina District.  Brain Awareness Week which was held March 16-21. For information about the Pilot Club, contact Ann Martin at 537-2822. The club meets the third Monday each month at the Woman’s Club, 715 Jackson St., Roanoke Rapids, and visitors are welcome. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. for $7 and the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
