GARYSBURG — Sallie Mae Brinkley Floyd, 84, of Garysburg, died Thursday, May

21, 2009, at her home.

She is survived by her children, Edward Odom (Jeannie Bell) of Garysburg,

Raymond Floyd Jr. (Clara) of Hampton, Va., Carl Floyd (Ann) of Woodbridge,

Va., Faye Lashley (Titus) of Virginia Beach, Va., Dorothy Mason of Gaston,

Pamela Mason (Quinton) of Greensboro and Kathy Jackson (Michael) of

Fredericksburg, Va.; a son-in-law, Robert High of Skippers, Va.; 27

grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren;

her sisters-in-law, Effie Mae Brinkley and Maggie Fikes; and her

brother-in-law, June Fikes.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, at Twilight

Missionary Baptist Church in Weldon, with the Rev. Richard L. Webb

officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Cofield Mortuary in Weldon is handling the arrangements.
