Couple exchange wedding vows on May 16 in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Laura Elizabeth Pittman and Michael Anthony Spatorico, both of Roanoke Rapids, exchanged wedding vows during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Holy Family Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. William T. Pittman Sr. and Mrs. Patricia Whalen, both of Roanoke Rapids.

The bridegroom is the son of Salvatore and Patricia Spatorico of Niagara Falls.

Father Duane Klizek performed the nuptial ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. George Clark of Niagara Falls, organist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white strapless satin corset ball gown with beaded lace and pearl cluster appliqués, lace of the back and an organza pick-up skirt. The gown was accented by a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a silver tiara with pearl clusters that coordinated with her gown. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and pink roses. The bridegroom and his attendants wore a single white rose boutonniere. The mothers of the bride and bridegroom wore a corsage with four roses. The bride’s attendants carried hand-tied bouquets of light pink and dark pink roses.

Zampeta Phelps of Edgewater, Fla., friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Jessica Watts of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Marsha Collier, friend of the bride and bridegroom, and Teri Kimball, friend of the bride, both of Roanoke Rapids.

Serving as flower girl was Abigail Cox of Roanoke Rapids, daughter of the bride. Ring bearer was Victor Spatorico of Niagara Falls, nephew of the bridegroom.

Mr. Joseph Spatorico of Niagara Falls, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were R.D. Golden of Alexandria, Va., Timothy Tucker of Littleton and Robert Reed of Roanoke Rapids, all friends of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Alice Williams of Roanoke Rapids, aunt of the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies. Greeters were Tommy Pittman and Samantha Pittman, brother and sister of the bride.

The bride has an associate degree in applied science human services technology from Halifax Community College in Weldon. She is employed with Northampton County in Jackson.

The bridegroom has an associate degree in applied science criminal justice from GCC in Batavia, N.Y. He is employed with Common Wealth of Virginia in Jarrett, Va.

After a nine-day Royal Caribbean Cruise with the couple visiting four islands and five days at sea, they will reside in Roanoke Rapids.

A reception was held at Quality Inn Niagara Banquet Hall in Niagara Falls, catered by Antonio’s Restaurant. Cocktail hour began at 5:30 p.m., serving a variety of cheeses, vegetables and dip display with an open bar. The bar closed for dinner at 6:30 p.m., which consisted of house mixed greens, garden salad, pasta dish of ziti with homemade sauce. The main course included chicken marsala, hand carved roasted slice beef, seasonal vegetables, roasted potatoes and rolls with butter. Dessert included the three-tiered wedding cake with white icing. Pink ribbon and pearls lined the layers of the cake. The bar re-opened following the dinner with dancing and music provided by Premier Sound DJ.

An after-rehearsal dinner was held for the bridal party and parents of the bride and bridegroom. Dinner featured salad, ziti, baked pork chops, roast beef, potatoes and rolls served at the VFW Hall in Niagara Falls.

A bridal shower was given by Patricia Spatorico, mother of the bridegroom, on Feb. 21 in Niagara Falls.

On April 4, a bridal shower was given by the bridal party, family and church members at the East 10th St. Church of Christ Fellowship Hall in Roanoke Rapids.

A bridal shower was given on April 16 by the bride’s co-workers of Families and Children’s Medicaid Department in Jackson.

A stag party was given for the bridegroom by his brother, Joseph Spatorico, and his father, Salvatore Spatorico, on March 21, in Niagara Falls.

On April 24, Robert Reed hosted a stag party for the bridegroom at Virginia Beach, Va.

A bachelorette party was given for the bride by matron of honor Jessica Watts on May 9, in Roanoke Rapids.
