May 16 nuptials for Turner-Hollowell

Krista Michelle Turner and Thomas Wayne Hollowell Jr. both of Roanoke Rapids, exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in Roanoke Rapids.

The bride is the daughter of Charles and Sue Turner of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of Earl and Barbara Barbour of Beaufort, Robert S. Clark Jr. of Littleton, Edna Turner and the late James “Moose” T. Turner Sr. of Roanoke Rapids.

The bridegroom is the son of Janice and Ronnie King of Broadnax, Va. and Thomas Hollowell Sr. of Roanoke Rapids. He is the grandson of Lois “Frog” and Jean Ellis, Virginia Camp and the late Graham Camp, Bertha Deal and the late Kenneth Deal and the late David Hollowell Sr. all of Roanoke Rapids.

The Rev. Charles Arnold performed the nuptial ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jean Arnold of Roanoke Rapids, pianist, Charles “Chad” Turner Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, soloist, sung “I Will Be Here,” originally by Steven Curtis Chapman and other music “ I Cross My Heart,” by George Strait and “God Bless the Broken Road,” by Rascal Flatts was provided on tape.

Given in marriage by her father, Charles Turner, the bride wore a strapless A-line white matte satin gown ruched to the left side and highlighted with an asymmetrical line of the color orchid purple and also color orchid purple buttons down the back of the dress and small mini length train.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a tiara with rhinestone and double shoulder length veil. She carried purple roses, lavender roses, orchids and Gerber daisies arranged by Countryside Interiors.

Brandy Shaw of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride and bridegroom, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erica Browder, cousin of the bride, Stephanie Warrick, friend of the bride and bridegroom and Amanda Clark, cousin of the bride, all of Roanoke Rapids.

Hannah Osbourne of Littleton, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. Ronnie King Jr. of Broadnax, Va., brother of the bridegroom served as ring bearer.

Thomas Hollowell Sr. of Roanoke Rapids, served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Marc Shaw, of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride and bridegroom, Charles “Chad” Turner Jr., of Roanoke Rapids, brother of the bride and Dustin Hendrick of Broadnax, Va., brother of the bridegroom.

Tammy Overton of Roanoke Rapids, served as mistress of ceremonies.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School, a 2007 graduate of Halifax Community College and has an associate’s in Nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Brunswick High School. He is a mechanic, employed with All-In-One Automotive in Roanoke Rapids.

After a honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Roanoke Rapids.

A reception was hosted by the bride’s family & was held at the fellowship hall of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God.

An after-rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents held at Faith Tabnernacle Pentecostal Church of God fellowship hall.

A bridal shower was hosted by the bride’s mother Sue Turner on March 21, in the fellowship hall of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God.

Joseph Pair and Mike Melvin hosted a bachelor party on March 28, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

A bachelorette party was hosted by Brandy Shaw on April 25, at Logans Roadhouse in Roanoke Rapids.

The bridegroom’s mother & stepfather, Janice & Ronnie King, hosted a cookout at their home in Broadnax, Va., on May 9.
