The bridegroom is the son of Edmond and Cheryl Dixon of Roanoke Rapids. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marie Keeter and the late Howard Keeter and Mrs. Regina Dixon and the late John Dixon Sr., and the great-grandson of Mrs. Lovelle Gray, all of Roanoke Rapids.
The nuptial ceremony was performed by Preacher Michael Jones.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Doug Gross, accompanied by Mike Sewell, guitarist, Mrs. Dru Barlow, organist, Mrs. Ligeia Brown, pianist, and Miss Nancy Brown, violinist. Songs that were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Doug Gross included “I Do” and “Forever and Ever I Do.”
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a beautifully elegant gown with beaded metallic embroidered shoulder straps, beaded lace corset, a satin pickup skirt and a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, the bride chose a single tiered veil extending to the elbow, with pearl and beaded edging to compliment the wedding gown.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, white roses, green roses, green hydrangea blossoms and white mini calla lilies, tied with sheer white ribbon. C&W’s Candy & Gift Shop Plus Florist professionally designed all flowers.
Miss Lindsey Jordan of Roanoke Rapids, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Brittany Fouch of Muncie, Ind., Miss Sarah Losier of Blairsville, Pa., Mrs. Emily Smith of Taylors, S.C., all college friends of the bride, and Miss Brittany Woodard of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride. Miss Casey Dickens, friend of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid.
Lizbeth Dickens, friend of the bride, served as flower girl. Ring bearer was Dylan Broughton of Kershaw, S.C., cousin of the bride.
Mr. Edmond Dixon served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Dixon and Jacob Dixon of Roanoke Rapids, brothers of the bridegroom, Daniel Dixon of Greenville, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mark Hughes of Fuquay-Varina, friend of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Angie Moody of Roanoke Rapids served as mistress of ceremonies. Program attendant was Mrs. Lori Lewis of Greenville and guest book attendant was Miss Leslie Odom of Roanoke Rapids, both friends of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is employed with Nash General Hospital as a registered nurse in the Cardiopulmonary Support Unit.
The bridegroom graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Design. He is employed with Dominion North Carolina Power as a project designer.
The couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and now reside in Roanoke Rapids.
The parents of the bride hosted a reception at Chockoyotte Country Club, which was catered by Doris Riggs of Nashville, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Michael Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Morris greeted family and friends. Mrs. Odell Holliday and Mrs. Cindy Odom served punch and tea. Bridal party announcement was by Mr. Charles Beaver. Mrs. Cheryl Walker served the wedding cake, which was a four tier-squiggly with pearl drops, silver cake plateau, one set of columns, edge ribbon with dots. The top layer was red velvet and chocolate, and the bottom layer was vanilla. The cake was adorned with cymbidium orchids, calla lilies, roses, hydrangea blossoms and carnations, with a full crystal monogram cake topper.
An after-rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Dixon, at the fellowship hall of Victory Baptist Church. The dinner was catered by Carla Stephenson and Lena Price.
A Christmas shower was hosted by Angie Moody at her home.
A miscellaneous bridal shower was held at Victory Baptist Church and hosted by Mrs. Cheryl Woodard and Mrs. Odell Holliday.
The bridegroom’s family hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower at Quankie Baptist Church, directed by Mrs. Marie Keeter, grandmother of the bridegroom.
A lingerie shower was hosted by Susan Boulden, Leesa and Laura Daughtry at the home of Susan Boulden.
A miscellaneous bridal shower was given by co-worker’s of the bride.
A bridal luncheon was hosted by Lisa Dickens and Debbie Morris at Smith United Methodist Church.
