Couple wed June 6 during 4:30 p.m. beach ceremony in Kitty Hawk

Elizabeth Ashley Boone and Anthony William Usalis III., both of Huntersville, exchanged wedding vows during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 6, 2009, on the beach in Kitty Hawk. 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Boone of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty H. Edwards and the late James T. Edwards of Seaboard, and Mrs. Jane B. Boone and the late Rogers J. Boone of Jackson. 

The bridegroom is the son of Kathy Navitsky Long  of  Ashland, Pa., and the late Anthony William Usalis Jr. He is the grandson of Mrs. Catherine “Kitty” Navitsky  of Drexel Hill, Pa., and the late Wally Navitsky, and Mrs. Irene Usalis of Shenandoah, Pa., and the late Anthony William Usalis. 

The ceremony was performed by Dave Keller of Kitty Hawk.

Music was provided by guitarist Johnny Stetson of Shenandoah, cousin of the bridegroom. 

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a natural white raw silk strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a rusched bodice that flowed into a soft trumpet skirt. The waistline was accented with a Dupiono sash tied in a square knot, with long tapered tails. Covered buttons extended along the back of the dress to the end of the chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, the bride chose a single tiered veil of silk tulle with a fine edging of silk to compliment the wedding gown. 

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of orange and champagne roses, accented with miniature seashells and bear grass designed by Wayne Massey of Flowers by Wayne in Jackson. The stems were braided with ivory satin ribbon and accented with a lace handkerchief from the wedding bouquet of the bride’s grandmother. 

Miss Joanna Boone of Jackson, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Mrs. Karren Ricks of Jackson, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Hilary Usalis of Conshohocken, Pa., sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Jamie Larsen of Greensboro and Mrs. Jamie Lassiter of Conway, friends of the bride.

Serving as flower girl was Miss Sarah Kate Ricks of Jackson, niece of the bride.

Mr. Paul Usalis of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., uncle of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Michael “Fish” Silverman of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. Ryan Smith of Knightdale, Mr. George Larsen of Greensboro, Mr. Bo Lewis of Oxford, Mr. Kelly Glass of Wilmington and Mr. Robert “Yurgie” Kulpowicz of Shenandoah, all friends of the bridegroom. 

Mrs. Nancy Flythe of Seaboard served as mistress of ceremonies.

The bride graduated from East Carolina University in 2005, with a Master of Science in Accounting. She is a certified public accountant and is employed as an internal auditor with Speedway Motorsports Inc.

The bridegroom graduated from East Carolina University in 2005 with a Master’s in Technology Systems Management. He is employed as a district quality manager with Rockwell Automation. 

After a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple now resides in Huntersville with their two dogs, Sam and Coal. 

A wedding reception and dance, hosted by the bride’s parents, were held at the Kitty Hawk Pier House overlooking the ocean.

The bridegroom and his groomsmen hosted an after-rehearsal cookout at the Kill Devil Hills beach house of the bride’s grandmother.
