Life vision

I guess knocking on 80 years of living I see things with a warped mind.

Bush’s mess

People are saying Obama is cleaning up Bush’s mess.  Bush was in office eight years and Obama has only been in office five months. Let’s look at his accomplishments during this five-month period. Obama has created more bank failures during his five months than Bush did in eight years. Obama has created more home foreclosures in five months than Bush did in eight years. Obama has created more bankruptcies in five months than Bush did in eight years. Obama has spent more of the taxpayers’ money in five months than Bush did in his eight years. Obama has created more job vacancies during his five months than Bush did in eight years. Obama has already spent more time on television coverage than Bush did during his tenure. Obama is sending more troops overseas and will have more troops deployed abroad than Bush ever did. How much more of “‘Bush’s mess”’ can we afford to let Obama clean up?

Mirror reflection

What we see going on in Iran is just a mirror reflection of what happened in this country a few years ago. Is it time we pronounce judgment upon ourselves?

Welcome during operating hours

On our way from Virginia to North Carolina Saturday, we stopped at the lovely N.C. Visitors Center just inside the North Carolina border. Imagine our surprise when we discovered the Welcome Center portion had closed at 5 p.m. — on a weekend in the summer! How will this encourage tourism? If travelers cannot be informed of the local attractions, how can they be expected to stop in? Shouldn’t the Welcome Centers be open from dawn to dusk in the summer?

Drive-in movie

I noticed the other day that the old drive in theater in Gaston looks fairly serviceable. Is there any chance that it will reopen? I’d love to be able to see a drive-in movie with my kids and I think it would be a great tourist attraction.

" In reference to our uninformed citizen about the problems for which he/she is blaming the current president... It's not his fault. The crap just hit the fan during his administration. This mess has been a long time coming. You should pick up a newspaper every once in a while before making outrageous claims. "

" I agree with the barbeque prices! I know exactly which one you are talking about. I came into town about a month ago. My husband and I stopped there because we were REALLy craving it. It costed us $12 for 2 sandwiches!!!! He can make it at home for that price "

So, what you're telling me is that a few years ago in the United States we had a rigged election that resulted in Americans protesting and consequently being beaten and shot dead in the streets while doing so? Whatchu been smoking??? Please, get to a 12-step meeting ASAP! "

" For the person who posted that about Obama cleaning up Bush's Mess, Let's look at that it all started with the Bush Administration,Obama just iherited it, I think you should pay closer attention to the news! Why not pray for our President instead of judging him! Oh what a better place this world would be if we did! "
