Things get squirrelly at substation by Della BattsDaily Herald Staff Writer ROANOKE RAPIDS — If your power went squirrelly Wednesday morning around 6 a.m., there was nothing to be alarmed about. The power was back on before you were able to be late for work, hopefully. About 4,200 Dominion customers were without power early this morning for a short period of time. According to Dominion spokesperson Bryant Brooks, a squirrel got in a lead wire, blew about four circuits and knocked out the power at the Carolina substation. Because the problem was so close to the district office, crews were able to rectify the problem almost immediately. The squirrel did not survive the incident. |
