The Northampton and Halifax County election boards are open for business and severad would be candidates have already stepped forward. The deadline to file is noon, Friday, July 17.

As of 8 a.m. today, the following candidates have filed for the Nov. 3 election. All offices are still open to new candidates.

Northampton County

Severn Town Commissioner: Harold L. Garris, Royal P. Watson, Franklin L. Ferguson and Eloise P. Martin.

Conway Mayor: Brian E. Bolton.

Seaboard Mayor: Bobie N. Moss.

Seaboard Commissioner: Edward Henderson.

Garysburg Mayor: Roy L. Ball.

Garysburg Commissioner: Darryl Whittle, Jerline V. Brown, and Lola Ausby.

Rich Square Commissioner: Linwood C. Bryant and Charles M. Eason.

Jackson Commissioner: James W. “Dock” Boone, Karin J. Clements and Mary Ann Crawley.

Halifax County

Weldon Town Commissioner: Andy Whitby.

Mayor of Weldon: Johnny Draper.

Scotland Neck Town Commissioner: Delores Arrington and Forest “Big John” Bradley Jr.
