CHARLOTTE — LaDoris Jones Manning, 65, of Charlotte, and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, departed this life peacefully  Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Charlotte.

She is lovingly survived by her children, William Smith Jr. and Michael Smith (Cheryl) of Roanoke Rapids, Wanda S. Mazyck (Larry) of Charlotte, Randy Smith (Brenda) of Charlotte, Gerry Smith (Lukishia) of Greensboro, Fredy Manning of Charlotte,  Tonynia Manning of Charlotte and Mark Manning of Charlotte; one stepdaughter, Millicent Phipps of Roanoke Rapids; one stepson,  Moses Drumgold of Gaston; her godson, Anthony Gillus of  Lawrenceville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; her siblings, Edith Jones of Roanoke Rapids, James Taft (April) of Las Vegas and Pernell  Butler of Virginia Beach, Va.; one aunt, Alfonza Jordan of Roanoke Rapids; and one uncle, Charlie Jones of Landover, Md.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 19, at Cofield Mortuary in Weldon, which is handling the arrangements, and other times at 108 Allendale Dr., Roanoke Rapids.

Homegoing services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 20, in the Sanctuary of Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, with the Bishop William H. Cheek Sr., pastor, delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
