TARBORO — Ruby C. Rawls, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, July 19, 2009.

Mrs .Rawls was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Nash County, to the late Ben and Lizzie Radford Coley. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Johnnie B. Rawls; a granddaughter, Sharon Denise Rawls; four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Faye Adams and her husband, Henry, of Temperance Hall and Delores “Lois” Rawls Cobb of Tarboro; her sons, Johnny Rawls and his wife, Linda, of Belvoir, Timothy Rawls and his wife, Patty, of Conetoe, Matthew Rawls and his wife, Marion, of Ernul and James Herbert Rawls and his wife, Joyce, of Roanoke Rapids; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., today, July 21, at Carlisle Funeral Home, 701 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Herbert Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
