She was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Eugene Robinson and Rosa Mae Alston Robinson. During her youth she converted her life for Christ and became a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church in Littleton. She later joined Love of God Church of Christ and remained a member until her death. Her formal education was received in the public schools of Warren County.

She was united in holy matrimony to John Ivey Johnson II. God blessed this union with four children. With a loving, caring and sharing heart, she was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom who did an extremely outstanding and excellent job, with the help of her loving, devoted husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Steven Dwayne Pierce.

Her sweet spirit and precious memory will always live in the hearts and minds of her dedicated husband, John I. Johnson II of the home; her four children, Belinda Denise Robinson, Annie Louise Pierce and Charmaine Johnson Baxter, all of Maryland, and John Ivey Johnson III of Littleton; three other children of the heart who respected, assisted and cared for her as a mother, Willie L. Patterson (Tammy), Rufus Mills of Littleton and Minister Linda Powell of Roanoke Rapids; seven grandchildren whom she adored and enjoyed having around her, Ieshia Takia Johnson, Marcus Tyrell Bellamy, John Ivey Johnson IV, Kendall Ashley Baxter, Diamonique Brechelle Bellamy and Deja Monae Jones, all of Maryland, and Johnathon Le’Mark Johnson of Littleton; one son-in-law, Wendall Baxter of Maryland; her caring siblings, Maryland Robinson (Carrie), Henry Robinson (Merdis), Seafield Robinson (Brinda), Daisy Williams (Roland) and Emma Alston (Curtis), all of Littleton; four aunts, Daisy Brinkley (Leroy) of Littleton, Emma Jarrell (James) of Maryland, Francis Carter of Warrenton and Nannie Perkins of Atlanta; six sisters-in-law, China Washington, Magnolia Jones and Castella Childs, all of New York City, Magie Harvey and Vertie Davis of Littleton and Hattie Bailey of Bronx, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law, Author Ponton of Englewood, N.J., and Charles Childs and Donald Bailey of New York City; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The body will repose until 8:30 p.m., today, July 24, at Robinson Funeral Home in Littleton, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 25, at the Love of God Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Roanoke Rapids, with Bishop Moses Williams, pastor, delivering the eulogy.
