Miss Hammack becomes the bride of Nathan Carter Martin on June 13

Lauren Brooke Hammack of Roanoke Rapids and Nathan Carter Martin of Warfield, Va., exchanged wedding vows during a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 13, 2009, at East Tenth Street Church of Christ.

The bride is the daughter of David and Lisa Hammack of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of Carl and Mary Hammack of Seaboard and the late Mr. and Mrs. James G. Love of Burlington.

The bridegroom is the son of John Carter and Sharon Martin of Warfield. He is the grandson of Dorothy Hayes and the late Dennis Hayes of Dinwiddie, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Martin of Warfield.

Dave Chapman, minister of East Tenth Street Church of Christ, performed the nuptial ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mrs. Trudy Duke, organist, Mrs. Becky Carroll, pianist and soloist, and Miss Isabella Carroll, violinist.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a soft white floor-length gown with a halter style neck made of satin and accented with lace, pearls, iridescent sequins, tiny crystals and bugle beads. The gown featured a semi-cathedral-length train.

For her headpiece, the bride wore a fingertip-length single tiered veil with crystal and sequin edging and silver rhinestone tiara accented with pearls.

The bride carried a colorful hand-tied bouquet of hot pink, yellow, orange and white Gerber daisies accented with white tulips.

Kristen Hammack, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Casey Jones, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Fallon Sanderson and Miss Jesse King, friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Jamie Council, cousin of the bride.

Miss Natalie Finch, niece of the bride, and Miss Kyndall Jones, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girls. Ring bearer was Hamilton Morris, cousin of the bride.

Mr. John C. Martin served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Hammack, brother of the bride, Joshua Martin, brother of the bridegroom, and Ryan Durham, friend of the bridegroom. Junior groomsman was Tristan Morris, cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Chari Lane served as mistress of ceremonies. Program attendant and guest registrar was Miss Cailen Wessel.

The bride graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and is employed by American General Financial Services in South Hill, Va.

The bridegroom graduated from Brunswick Academy and attended and graduated from Advanced Technology Institute of Virginia Beach, Va.

After a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Warfield.

A wedding and dance reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Union Hall following the ceremony. Donna Hammack and Cheryl Morris, aunts of the bride, Marilyn Hale, Marie and Tracey Wright, special friends of the bride, and Mary Hammack, grandmother of the bride, prepared and served the food. Tiffany Hammack, aunt of the bride, served the punch. The wedding cake was made and served by Sandy Rose. Music was provided by Mark Wright of C&A DJ Service.

On the eve of the wedding, an after-rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents. Dinner was catered by david’s restaurant of Roanoke Rapids and was held in the fellowship building at East Tenth Street Church of Christ. At this time, the bride and bridegroom presented gifts to the wedding party.

A miscellaneous shower was given in May by the ladies at East Tenth Street Church of Christ.

Mrs. Sharon Martin and Mrs. Casey Jones hosted a miscellaneous shower in Warfield.

Nathan and Lauren would like to thank everyone who helped contribute to their special day.
