This year’s event included a partnership with the Rural Health Group and the National Association of University Women. All the funds raised at the event will go in the fight against breast cancer.
Riders followed Highway 158 to Littleton, caught Highway 903 and rode across the Lake Gaston area. From there, they took Highway 46 to Lawrenceville then ambled back to Garysburg and Weldon.
State Rep. Michael Wray, Mayor Johnny Draper and Northampton County Commissioner Fannie Greene were there to offer support.
The Gregory B. Davis Foundation was founded August of 2000 to preserve the memory of Gregory B. Davis.
A native of Garysburg, Gregory died in March 2000 while residing in Atlanta. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which works “to enhance the lives of youth and their families through the development and support of health related and educational programs and initiatives,” according to the foundation’s Web site gbdf.org.
Maurice expressed his appreciation to everyone who was a part of the event. “This is an excellent cause,” he said. “We appreciate all the riders, presenters and the volunteers. Collier Harley-Davidson donated coffee, doughnuts and prizes. We appreciate everything everybody did.”
