Couple exchange vows Sept. 12

Tammy Renee Boyd, of Roanoke Rapids, and Richard Hampton Warren, of Whitakers, exchanged wedding vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Boyd Jr., of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bunn, of Nashville, N.C., and the late Clement “Moe” Marshall, of Roanoke Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Boyd Sr., of Gaston.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Warren of Whitakers. He is the grandson of Mrs. Susan D. Browder of High Point and the late Thaddus H. Browder and Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Warren of Littleton.

George Hilton Jeffreys performed the nuptial ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by Dwight P. Berry, of Roanoke Rapids, pianist and Beth B. Mize, of High Point, soloist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner gown with its ivory and silver, beaded embroidery overlays the off-the-shoulder bodice, trimmed with peaked bands at the empire. An A-line skirt beautifully edged with scalloped embroidery beneath a satin band that continues onto the chapel length train.

For her headpiece the bride chose a tiara, ivory fingertip veil. She carried a cascade of white rose, purple statice, hot pink roses and green buttons.

Ms. Tracy L. Boyd, of Roanoke Rapids, aunt of the bride served as maid of honor. Mrs. Elizabeth H. Bevacqua, of Roanoke Rapids, childhood friend of the bride and Mrs. Nichole B. Clary, of Roanoke Rapids, friend of the bride, served as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Ms. Karen E. Henry, of St. Cloud, Fla, friend of the bride, Mrs. Jennifer C. Kruszewski, of Creedmoor and Ms. Kelli N. Miles, of Hillsborough, both college friends of the bride, Mrs. Amy W. Jeffreys, of Roanoke, Va., sister of the bridegroom and Ms. Susan W. Hayes, of New Bern, friend of the bride.

Serving as flower girl was Miss Kyndal G. Jeffreys, of Roanoke, Va., niece of the bridegroom. Junior bride was Miss Kaitlyn V. Jeffreys, of Roanoke, Va., niece of the bridegroom. Mr. Caleb Jeffreys, of Roanoke, Va., nephew of the bridegroom, and Mr. Braiden M. Warren, of Rocky Mount, son of the bridegroom served as ring bearers.

Mr. Richard Warren, of Whitakers, served as his son’s best man. Junior groom was Tresten Drake Warren, of Rocky Mount son of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Mr. Jeffrey A. Heybrock, Mr. Gregory V. Mize both of High Point and Mr. Anthony Perry, of Maryland and all uncles of the bridegroom, Mr. William Hunter, of Enfield, and Mr. Scott E. Hunt, of Rocky Mount, both friends of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Jennifer A. Gentry, of Winterville, college friend of the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of East Carolina University. She is the office manager of Carolina Eagle Distributing in Rocky Mount.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. He is a home medical equipment technician with Commonwealth Home Health.

After a cruise in the Bahamas the couple will reside in Rocky Mount.

 A reception was given by the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Boyd Jr., at Englewood Baptist Church, Lewis Family Life Center. The event was catered by Doris Riggs Catering.

 An after-rehearsal dinner and party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Warren at the Imperial Centre in downtown Rocky Mount.

        

 Ms. Tracy Boyd, Mrs. Sandra Felts and Mrs. Ruby Averette, aunts of the bride, hosted a miscellaneous shower on July 26, at the Gaston Lions Club building.

                 

 A miscellaneous shower was given by Mrs. Beth Mize and Mrs. Amy Heybrock, aunts of the bridegroom, on Aug. 9, at Englewood Baptist Church.

      

 A bachelorette party and lingerie shower was given by Ms. Tracy Boyd, Mrs. Elizabeth Bevacqua and Mrs. Nichole Clary on Sept. 10, at The Melting Pot in Raleigh.
