YORKVILLE, Ill. — Mrs. Julia Isadore Garner Taylor,  92, of Yorkville, Ill., and formerly of Occoneechee Neck, peacefully departed this life Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Ill.

She was a native of Northampton County.

She is survived by a daughter, Julia M. Taylor-Sykes of Yorkville; a son, Howard D. Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla.; her grandchildren, Therman Taylor III of Jackson, Sheila Whitaker (Tony) of High Point, Gregory Taylor (Shirley) of Atlanta, James R. Taylor Jr. of Greensboro, Angela Mumford of White Marsh, Md., Maurice Taylor (Clara) of Seaboard, Senta Taylor of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., Sharvon Benjamin of Plano, Ill., Torry Sessoms of Jacksonville, Fla., Michelle Sessoms of Roanoke Rapids, Yolanda Taylor and Aquan “AJ” Taylor of Yorkville, Brian Brooks of Washington, D.C., and Joni Carter of Plano; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law, Leatrice Taylor of Gumberry, Margaret Taylor of Hawthorn Woods and Louise Taylor of Houston, Texas.

Homegoing services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, at Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Dr. Franklin D. Williams Jr. delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Cofield Mortuary in Weldon is handling the arrangements.
