Emergency:You could have killed Someone! By ConcernI was driving down Thelma Road Thursday night, and was trying to pull onto Huckleberry Bottom to get out of the way of an oncoming firetruck, when I was run off the road by an ambulance attempting to pass the firetruck. It was a double yellow, nighttime, a curve, and the accident was less than a half mile down the road. There was no reason to risk my life and the lives of my infant son and 3 year old daughter for no gain in time. There were plenty of emergency vehicles already on the scene. It wasn't like they were going to be the first one's there. Emergency vehicles are not above the law and the ethics they signed up for when they decided to help people. Think: The car you are meeting in traffic has a person or a family in it. Hmmm...causing an accident to be the last responder (who might not even see action) to another accident. THINK! |
