Gladys F. Joyner

MARGARETTSVILLE — Gladys F. Joyner, 80, succumbed Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Hutersville.

She was born July 6, 1929, in Northampton County, the daughter of the late Jimmy Flythe and Annie Mae Scott.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one son, Randolph Joyner of Converse, Texas; four daughters, Gloria Johnson of Charlotte, Hellen Vinson of Washington, D.C., Etta Joyner of Atlanta and Cecelia Jasper of Lake Jackson, Texas; one sister, Decie Daye of Baltimore; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, at Faison’s Funeral Home Inc. in Seaboard, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at Zoar Baptist Church in Pendleton, with the Rev. William Denson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flythe Cemetery in Conway.
