" Please remeber that Weldon Midgets are the champions. There games were honest and with dignity. There were substituted players from other teams and over the midget age limit 12. The jamboree required players to present birth certficates and to be weighed in. They should have demanded the same last week. Roanoke Rapids should not be made an exception to the rules. They should be made to forfit the game for dishonesty. "

" Congratulations to the Raonake Rapids Yellow Jacket Midgette Football team. They all have worked hard and I'm very proud of all of them. I would like to thank all the coaches for dedicating their time to teach our boys football! And a special congratualtion to Jacob Walker for recovering the onside kick. I am a very pround mother and I know that football is his passion and he has grown these past 4 years. He has played since he was 8 years old and has never given up or wanted to quit. I, his daddy, grandparents, and stepdad are very pround of my son Jacob Walker! We love you! "
