Some of the people running for office who keep saying they are honest need to be careful how they use the word honest, because they have shown by their past they are not totally honest.

This Halloween season as you put out a sweet tell each child, “Jesus, loves you is the very best treat. To trick a person is very wrong and you will end up doing yourself harm.”

Leave my grill alone

Who does the city think they are? Today I received a letter telling me to remove junk items from around my shed. Those items are my grill, my daughter’s Barbi jeep, a cooler and hose. Those are personal items that belong to us sitting on our property. I know the city has other issues it needs to resolve rather than ask me to remove property I paid for on property I paid for … There are yards that need mowing … The woods nearby are filled with trash … This is getting ridiculous … Clean up the real trash in Roanoke Rapids and leave my grill alone.

Beware

We live in a dog eat dog world where jealousy, envy, backbiting, inflicting pain on one another and lying has become the norm even among Christians. If we don’t be careful we will devour one  another.

Need high-speed

We don’t need any more highway patrols on Roper Springs Road in Littleton … We have enough. What we need is high-speed internet access. We have a lot of working class people who live on this road who would love to have it and it’s pathetic we don’t.

Praise for Matt

I would like to say thank you Matt Stevenson at the Halifax County Extension Service. He is very professional and responsive. He came to our home, looked at our trees and plants and did soil samples to help us find our problem … We appreciate the job he is doing.

No respect for the flag

It is a crying shame. You come to a football game and they play the national anthem and noone stands at attention, removes their hats or salutes the flag. Everybody wants to talk and yak … that’s why the country is in the shape it is today because no one has any respect for the Stars and the Stripes and the soldiers who are protecting our freedom.
