Election Day is Tuesday

Few people realize the election, officially taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, is already under way. Halifax and Northampton counties are involved in the early voting process.

This process ends Saturday at 1 p.m. in Halifax. Eighty-five people have voted thus far. The county has 36,383 registered voters.

When Election Day arrives, both counties will be prepared. Polls open in Halifax County polling places at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p,m., giving registered voters plenty of opportunities to cast their ballots.

In Northampton County, polls also open at 6:30 am and close at 7:30 p.m. The early voting process ends Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., and only seven voters have thus far cast ballots. Northampton County has 14,227 registered voters.
