PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. — Geno “Kemp” Williams, 67, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Care Center of Lopatcong in Phillipsburg, N.J.

He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Jackson, the son of the late Arthur and Agnes Williams. He attended Gumberry High School in Gumberry, and adventured up north and was employed as a driver for Bon-Air Inc. in Camden N.J., until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lula Belle Jenkins, Carrie Williams and Naomi Williams; and his brothers, James and Roosevelt Williams.

Kemp leaves to cherish his memories his children, Calvin Spruill, Shirley Ann McNealy and Geno Williams II; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Williams of Bronx, N.Y.; his brothers, Arthur Williams Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Garysburg, Sylvester Williams and his wife, Mary, of Bronx, Solomon Williams of Toledo, Ohio, and Collins Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y.; special recognition to his devoted nephew, Herbert Hines and his wife, Yvonne, of Bronx; and a niece, Shirley Johnson of Garysburg.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Monday Nov. 9, at Coleman Funeral Home in Garysburg, which is handling the arrangements. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Shirley Johnson, 401 Highway 46, Garysburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, with Dr. Franklin Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
