Edith Catherine ‘Cathy’ McAdams

ROSWELL, Ga. — Edith Catherine “Cathy” McAdams was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Emporia, Va., and passed into Heaven on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009.

Cathy resided in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 1959 until 2004, and then resided in Roswell, Ga. Cathy was a hairdresser for 50 years. Through her gentle and creative hands she made many women and our world a more beautiful place. She will be loved and forever missed by her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.

She is survived by her children, Thomas E. McAdams Jr., Dianne Harrison and Donna Honig; her brothers, Wilson Bennett, Sherman Bennett and Alton Bennett; a sister, Jean Powell; her grandchildren, David Harrison, Ashby Harrison, Natalie Wall, Laurie Johnson, Cathy Medlin and Tommy McAdams; and her great-grandchildren, Haley, Natalie, Nathan and Eric. 

 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday Nov. 13, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Barly, Va. Interment will follow in Greensville Memorial Cemetery in Emporia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundations, 1687 Tullie Circle, NE Atlanta GA 30329. 

Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell GA 30076, is handling the arrangements.
