Jeanette White Hunter

LITTLETON — Jeanette White Hunter, 43, of 3975 Roper Spring Road, Littleton, departed her earthly life Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at UNC Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill.

Johnnie White and the late Emma Brooks Lee were blessed on July 3, 1966, with the birth of their daughter, Jeanette. Jeanette accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Greater St. Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Jeanette was a very active and devoted member who worked timeless on her spiritual journey.

Jeanette received her education in the Northampton County School System and continued her education at Halifax Community College and Elizabeth City State University. On Oct. 5, 1986, Jeanette was joined in holy matrimony to Edward Hunter. Jeanette’s mother, Emma Brooks Lee, preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish and reflect upon her memories are a loving husband, Edward, and a daughter, La-Tia, both of the home; a stepson, Christopher Hunter; her father, Johnnie White (his devoted friend Bertha) of Wilson; her brother, Corey Brooks and his wife, Towanda, of Garysburg; her sisters, Joyce Lee and her husband, Alexander, of Littleton, Aiesha Harper and her husband, Kelsey, of Roanoke Rapids and Kisha Pearson and her husband, Angelo, of Littleton; two aunts; Catherine Mitchell and her husband, James, of Garysburg and Madgeline Powell and her husband, Lawrence Sr., of Garysburg; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Lee Brinkley and her husband, Frank, of Littleton; six nieces, seven nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., today, Nov. 13, at Coleman Funeral Home in Garysburg, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, at Greater St. Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Enfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
