Miss Rogerson becomes the bride of Jackie Lynn Braddy Laurel Kelsey Rogerson and Jackie Lynn Braddy, both of Scotland Neck, exchanged wedding vows during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at the Country Church Museum in Hobgood. The bride is the daughter of Eva Rogerson of Roanoke Rapids. The bridegroom is the son of Virginia Best and her husband, Chuck, of Scotland Neck and Lynn Braddy and his wife, Kay, of Sims. He is the grandson of Margaret Ayres of Scotland Neck and Ginny and Alton Braddy of Hobgood. Pastor Aubrey Spears performed the double-ring wedding ceremony. Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her mother, the bride wore an A-line side-draped strapless gown with beaded lace detail on the bodice and skirt featured a lace-up back and split-back skirt with beaded lace. For her headpiece, the bride chose a rhinestone accented double headband with a two-tiered crystal edge fingertip-length veil. She wore a rhinestone dropped necklace with matching earrings. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of starfighter lilies and calla lilies. Ushers were Kyler Rogerson, son of the bride, and William Braddy, son of the bridegroom, both of Scotland Neck. Rita Rogerson and Susan Rogerson of Manteo, aunts of the bride, served as mistresses of ceremonies. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. The bridegroom is a 1993 graduate of Rocky Mount Senior High School. The couple honeymooned at the Virginia mountains and now reside in Scotland Neck. n Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception at the Depot next to the church. The bride’s cake was designed and made by the bride. Music was provided by DJ Ray Melton of Roanoke Rapids. The floral decorations for the church and the reception were created by Jimmy Moseley and the girls at It’s All About You Florist & Gifts. Photography was by Les Atkins. n On the eve of the wedding an after-rehearsal pig-picking was hosted by the bridegroom at the home of the couple in Scotland Neck. Gifts were exchanged at this time. n A lingerie shower was hosted by Rita Rogerson and Susan Rogerson, aunts of the bride, during the July 4th weekend in Manteo. |
